PRESS RELEASE: Thursday 21st January 2021

Chicken & Blues, the national award-winning ‘posh chicken shop’ brand, has announced the launch of the Chicken & Blues Neighbourhood Fund, a focused community initiative set to launch in January 2021. The project has been set up to centralise C&B’s support of local causes throughout the year across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

The launch of the fund follows a series of outreach projects undertaken by the brand throughout the Corona Virus lockdowns in 2020, in particular the extensive support of NHS frontline workers.

Joshua Simons, co-founder: “We’re proud to formalise our local community support commitment with the official launch of Chicken & Blues’ Neighbourhood Fund. It has always been our intention to be more than just a restaurant brand. We intend to play an active role in the local neighbourhoods in which we operate, channelling funds and raising awareness to help local organisations, clubs, and individuals in need.”

With the launch of Chicken & Blues Neighbourhood Fund, Chicken & Blues aims to centralise the processes of fund distribution, inviting members of the public to propose local initiatives and causes that they believe would benefit from the support. Previous beneficiaries of C&B’s campaigns have included Julia’s House, Dorset Mind, and most recently, Poole Swimming Club.

Steve Crawford, co-founder: “We will do our best to support as many local causes as we can this year. Initially, we are committing £5,000 to the project. We also plan to put together multiple fundraising projects in the upcoming months to help us build the fund and in turn redistribute meaningful sums to those in need throughout 2021.”
