Chicken & Blues is delighted to be supporting the launch of Bournemouth native Siân Burton’s ‘Uncle Chook’s Chicken Salt’!

The 28-year-old is the founder of Uncle Chook’s Chicken Salt, making and selling chicken salt. Never heard of chicken salt? It’s Australia’s favourite condiment, on a par with salt and pepper.

Originating in the 1970s as a seasoning for BBQ’d chicken – hence the name – chicken salt can be found in just about every establishment Down Under.

Made of a blend of herbs and spices, it works best on chips, but can also be used on roast potatoes, salad and many other dishes.

While massive in Australia, chicken salt is virtually unknown in the UK.

Until now.

Siân is a former student at Bournemouth School for Girls, and Uncle Chook’s is believed to be the UK’s only manufacturer of chicken salt.
