Chicnic Season is upon us…
Gather your crew, and watch the sun do its thing
Enjoy the beautiful surroundings across Bournemouth and Poole this summer with a ‘Chicnic’.
Whether you’re heading to the beach, finding a spot in the park, or just setting up on your balcony with the evening sun, there’s never been a better time to take Mama’s Home Cookin’ outside.

Take a Little Chicnic Home
Picnic blankets, tote bags and a few other bits and bobs — pick up some C&B merch to remember the day (and to use at every picnic, beach trip and festival from here on out).
100% of net proceeds from C&B merchandise sales go to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, our chosen charity for 2026.
Where to Spread Your Blanket
Once you’ve grabbed your Chicnic, the hard part is picking a spot.
Here’s three of our favourites:

Evening Hill, Sandbanks
Arguably the best sunset view on the south coast. Look out across Poole Harbour, watch the paddleboarders drift past and the boats come in. Bring a jumper for when the sun dips.

Christchurch Quay
Swans on the Stour, the Priory rising behind you, rowing boats pottering past. Hard to beat on a lazy afternoon — and yes, it’s where Christchurch Music Festival takes over in July.

Bournemouth Lower Gardens
Right in the heart of town and a short stroll from Winton or Boscombe Spa. Mature trees, the bandstand, plenty of grass to sprawl on. Easy, central, lovely.
Chicnic Memories
Last summer, John and Maria packed up a Chicnic, drove down to Evening Hill and chased the Sandbanks sunset. Blanket spread, boxes open, golden hour rolling in across Poole Harbour – it’s exactly the kind of evening the Chicnic was made for.
Watch how their evening unfolded, and let it be your nudge to plan one of your own. Grab someone you love (or just someone who’ll share their wings), pick a spot, and let us handle the rest.
