Local guy Harry makes Hole-In-One to win £25,000!
On Tuesday 5th September 2023, at Chicken & Blues’ annual charity golf day at Remedy Oak Golf Club, Bournemouth-based Harry Cummings made an incredible hole-in-one to win a £25,000 cash prize!
Remarkably, with the odds of a hole-in-one by an amateur golfer thought to be around 12,500-1, this miracle shot was captured on camera by C&B’s team. The hole-in-one came on the 185-yard 9th hole.
Sky Sports Golf analyst and former European Tour Professional, Zane Scotland, was in attendance to host the day and was green-side when Harry struck his momentous shot.
Zane Scotland: ‘In all my years of attending golf days around the world, I have never seen an amateur golfer hole a shot to win a prize as awesome as this. It was a brilliant moment and I’m buzzing for Harry and his family. Well done mate!’
Harry Cummings: ‘I still can’t believe it! I’m an occasional golfer at best, and obviously this is my first hole-in-one. We thought it was close, and then heard some shouting from around the green – from there, it’s all a bit of a blur to be honest! Thanks to everyone that organised the day – my family have just moved into a new home – the winnings will go a long way – what incredible timing!’
Joshua Simons, C&B: ‘What a brilliant story. As most golfers know, hole-in-ones very rarely happen in this game, not least on a hole during an event with such a great prize! Harry is such a worthy winner – we’re all delighted for him!’.
Harry has since announced that he is making a generous donation from his winnings to The Steve Bernard Foundation, the beneficiary of the day and Chicken & Blues’ chosen charity of the year.
Check out the video montage below that captures this monumental moment!
Cheers to 10 years… C&B celebrates turning a decade old!
Dear C&B fans,
It’s our 10th birthday!
Back in September 2013 we opened our first restaurant in Bournemouth – just a bunch of mates with a plan, or so we thought at the time! We had a feeling that we were about to embark on an exciting journey, but had no real idea about what the future held. What we did have was a group of great people on the team, with a passion for hospitality – and thankfully, this has not changed!
10 years on and we dropped into our latest restaurant in Christchurch this week to see the team, have lunch with a bunch of friends and business partners and toast what has been some adventure so far!
We’d like to sincerely thank everyone that has supported us over the years – from the many thousands of loyal local patrons and visitors, to the individual team members that have made such a valuable contribution to C&B.
Onwards!
Our best,
Josh & Steve

C&B partners with Mudeford Football Academy
Chicken & Blues is delighted to announce that it has partnered with Mudeford Football Academy, which has recently been established in the local community, offering young aspiring footballers the opportunity to train and develop their skills in a structured and supportive environment.
The academy provides a range of age-specific programs, catering to children’s groups from the ages of Under 5’s to Under 12’s. With a team of experienced and qualified coaches, the academy places a strong emphasis on player development, focusing on technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of the game.
As part of the partnership, Chicken & Blues will gift a C&B Juniors Meal to every child that registers, which can be redeemed at C&B’s Christchurch location, which opened in March at 17 Church Street, in the heart of the town.

C&B remixes Happy Gilmore with The Tattooed Golf Coach!
To celebrate Chicken & Blues’ partnership with Harry ‘The Tattooed Golf Coach’ Shaw, we’ve remixed the famous Subway scene from the legendary Happy Gilmore movie, with a C&B twist.
Harry is not your average golf coach, with a distinctive look that bucks tradition. A former professional Barber, he is keen to make golf inclusive and fun for people of all ages and abilities, regardless of whether they ‘fit’ the golf image. Through his brand, Harry hopes to emphasise the importance of being yourself, and to not be afraid of standing out from the crowd.
Harry Shaw: ‘Golf has helped me battle my mental health, and since creating my Tattooed Golf Coach brand, people have really started to take notice. I believe Golf can help people – I am trying to push the sport and show that it’s not just a boring old game.. It’s one of those sports that’s great for all! I hope everyone enjoys the Happy Gilmore remix – we had a lot of fun filming it!’
Joshua Simons, C&B: ‘We really admire what Harry has achieved in creating such a distinctive brand – his idea of recreating the iconic scene from Happy Gilmore shows that he doesn’t take himself too seriously – you can see why he has become such a popular golf coach in the local region. With this partnership, we’ll be fuelling Harry before his tournaments with Mama’s Home Cookin’, and Harry will be sporting limited edition C&B Trucker Hats at his events throughout the year’.
